Avocados

The avocados we grow here in Florida are unique.
They have been nicknamed the “Alligator Pear, “ because of their smooth green skin.
Florida avocado varieties are mostly hybrids of the West Indian avocado, but are sometimes crossbred with the Guatamalan avocado.
Our avocados have a very buttery taste, but unlike hass avocados they contain 1/2 the fat and 2/3 less calories.
Selection & Storage:
Avocados are ready to eat when they yield to gentle pressure....but don’t squeeze to hard.

To speed up the ripening process, place avocados in a

paper bag  with an apple.

Once ripe can keep in refrigerator  for up to 7 days.

New Limeco’s avocados are forced air cooled to keep the cold chain going from harvest to customer delivery.
